The relief depicts the scene in a field in the early morning when the woman is ploughing with her buffalo. In the past, this strenuous task was mainly carried out by men. The appearance of a woman here thus reminds us of the “Three Responsibilities Movement” launched by the Vietnam Women's Union in 1965, calling for the participation of our women in the national salvation, both in the agricultural production behind the battle lines and in the front-line resistant in the war.
