The painting depicts a familiar scene of buffalo herding in the countryside created through an impressive language of art. The artist used strikingly contrasting colours, flat shapes and composition together with an elegant white border. Even though the two figures here are lying on the buffalo and banana leaf, we feel as if they are actually floating in air. Thus, it gives viewers a sense of levitation in a dreamy world, the world of vague memories of our childhood and rural life.
