Lý A Súa is collecting straw to feed the buffaloes. In remote areas, children aged nine or 10 usually do this to help their parents while their parents are threshing rice. On the way from school, they often collect and carry straw on their backs, like in the photo, during the rice harvest period. In Buôm Khoang village, rice is harvested in July in addition to the harvest of an upland rice crop in November.
